Instead of Time Share Selling, How About Donating it to Charity?

When it comes to time shares most people think of it as a solid way of earning significant money in the real estate world. Well, if that is the option a person holds then the opinion is not exactly far off the mark. After all, a number of people have earned huge profits from selling time shares and this is the reason why time shares have so greatly expanded in popularity. What many people are not aware of is the fact that there are a number of people who donate time shares to charitable organizations.

Imagine if there was an organization such as the Make a Wish Foundation and they had a number of kids who wished they could reside for a time in a particular resort area where you own a property that you are time share selling. You could do an honorable and noble thing by donating that property and bring a great deal of joy to their lives and a great deal of satisfaction to your own. And, on top of that, they may even be tax rewards available as well. (Hopefully, tax deductions are not your primary motivator)

In certain instances, donating a time share to charity can be tax deductible. Since this is not the space to provide legal advice to anyone - particularly in matters of taxation - it becomes the prudent thing to read up on this subject in the current tax code as the tax code will, after all, provide all that one needs to know about the subject in black and white. Then again, sometimes the tax code can be ridiculously complex so you may with to consult an accountant on this subject. But, in general, there are certain criteria that if met will allow you to deduct the donation from your taxes.
